Bathroom dresser
These old summer "camps" in Maine are adorable, but they generally don't have any closets so storage can be a problem. Therefore, you will find dressers in almost every room of the house. This old dresser in our bathroom needed a makeover. Sorry, I didn't take a "before" picture, but it was previously painted a greenish color. I painted the frame and the knobs with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Chateau Grey. For the drawers, I used the same color but added some Old White to lighten it a bit. I added a coat of Annie Sloan clear wax, buffed it, then lightly sanded the frame and went over it with a little of the Annie Sloan dark wax. I finished it with another coat of the clear wax. I love the way it turned out and hubby is happy we can put our things back into the dresser!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since I've worked on a project. We arrived in Maine the end of June and I've been so busy enjoying myself with other things I just got away from it for a bit. Every morning I put my coffee on this little table and look out at the water while I wake up. I loved this lines of the table, but it needed something to make it stand out. Two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Duck Egg Blue and two coats of Annie Sloan Clear Wax and ... WaLa! Now I have a beautiful little table next to me when I'm gazing out at the water!

Telehone table redo
This little old table was in desperate need of a redo so I painted it with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Duck Egg Blue, lightly sanded it to age it a little bit, and added a coat of furniture wax. I added a new drawer pull and I think this table is a real beauty now, don't you?

My Grandfather's table
I painted this cute little table some time ago with Annie Sloan's chalk paint in Old White. This little table belonged to my deceased grandfather. I finally got around to adding some French Graphics I found on Karen the Graphics Fairy's website http://www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/. I printed out the graphics then used carbon paper to transfer the image outline with my stylus. I then handpainted the image with black acrylic craft paint.

Antique hutch
I really should post before and after pictures. This old hutch dates to 1929 and it was stained very, very dark. My hubby picked it up at a second-hand furniture store about 10 years ago and he was going to refinish it, but never got around to it. Well, this piece of furniture ended up in My Happy Place and I just finished it today. I love the way it turned out! Of course, I used Annie Sloan chalk paint - Old White on the inside and Duck Egg Blue on the outside. Two coats of paint and a couple of coats of furniture paste wax and it's beautiful. I love giving new life to old, worn pieces of furniture. It's funny - my girls never took an interest in any of the old pieces of furniture I had laying around until I painted them and made them beautiful. Now they want them! Sorry girls, I'm keeping this one.

Painted Vanity
I painted this old vanity with Annie Sloan's chalk paint in the color Old White. I brushed on two coats. Then I hand-painted big, happy, yellow flowers on the drawers, and a cheerful yellow butterfly above the mirror with acrylic paint. I applied two coats of Minwax paste finishing wax and this piece of furniture is ready for adoption! I guess I should say auction. I have donated it to our local Humane Society for their annual auction scheduled for August 18th of this year. I hope it brings a good price to help out the animals at the shelter and I hope somebody will enjoy "beautifying" themselves in front of the mirror of this lovely old piece of furniture!
